UPDATE ON WATER SHORTAGE IN POLOKWANE MUNICIPALITY

Power supply has been restored to Seshego Water Treatment Plant and Lepelle Northern Water has confirmed that power is also restored to the Ebenezer Scheme.

However, the Olifantspoort line remains without power, impacting water distribution.

As of this morning, reservoir levels are critically low:

  • Potgieter: 2%
  • 50Ml Krugersburg, 30Ml D, and 30Ml F: 0%
  • Olifants and Ebenezer inflow: 0.0 l/s
  • Seshego Reservoir: 0%

Given these low levels, all residents are urged to remain patient as the municipality focuses on gradually lifting reservoir levels to restore normal supply. In the meantime, the municipality will continue to provide temporary water relief to affected areas until the situation stabilizes.

Polokwane Municipality thanks residents for their patience and understanding as it works closely with Lepelle Northern Water to resolve these challenges and minimize inconvenience. Further updates will be shared as they become available.

End!
