ALERT ON SCAMMERS IMPERSONATING POLOKWANE MUNICIPAL OFFICIALS

Polokwane Municipality alerts the public, particularly law firms, about scammers posing as municipal officials to fraudulently solicit money. These individuals falsely claim to represent the municipality’s Legal Services office and use the name of Mr. Ubuseng Mphahlele, a legitimate municipal official, to demand payments for appointments related to legal services.

It is important to note that:

  • Neither Mr. Mphahlele nor any official from the municipality solicits funds for appointments or services.
  • Polokwane Municipality strictly follows transparent and lawful procurement procedures as per its Supply Chain Management (SCM) Policy.

Polokwane Municipality kindly advises members of the public and law firms to exercise caution and refrain from responding to or engaging with any communication that appears suspicious or requests financial payments on behalf of the municipality and to verify any communication by contacting the municipality directly through official channels.

For verification or to report concerns, contact Polokwane Municipality at 015 290 2458 / 2514.

Polokwane Municipality remains committed to integrity and transparency in all its operations.
