CABLE THEFT DISRUPTS POWER SUPPLY IN PARTS OF POLOKWANE

Polokwane Municipality hereby informs residents and businesses that an unfortunate incident of cable theft has occurred at the corner of Nelson Mandela Drive and Devenish Street, impacting electricity supply to parts of Westenburg and Nirvana.

Municipal technicians are currently on-site, working to isolate the affected line. This is to ensure that while the cable is being replaced, power supply is maintained where possible.

However, the isolation process may cause the line to overload. To manage this, the municipality will alternate power supply between the industrial area and residential areas until full restoration is achieved.

Polokwane Municipality urges members of the community to assist in safeguarding municipal infrastructure and to report any suspicious activities to law enforcement authorities by contacting the police on 08600 10111 or the Municipal By-Law Enforcement Office on 015 290 2458.
