EXECUTIVE MAYOR SUPPORTS MAKGATHO FAMILY DURING COURT APPEARANCE

POLOKWANE , 30 August 2024 | This morning, the Executive Mayor of Polokwane Municipality, Cllr Makoro John Mpe, is standing alongside the community at the Mankweng Magistrate Court to support the Makgatho family during a difficult time.

The court appearance involves three men who are accused of a horrific crime – allegedly shooting and killing Mariah Makgatho and then feeding her body to pigs that had already begun consuming it. In this incident, Makgatho and Lucia Ndlovu lost their lives, while Ndlovu’s husband sustained serious injuries.

Yesterday, the Executive Mayor visited the Makgatho family at their home in Kotishing, within the Sebayeng/Dikgale cluster. During the visit, Cllr Makoro John Mpe expressed deep sorrow over the incident. “This matter has saddened us as a municipality,” he said. “We pray that these criminals are denied bail and that justice is served. Our focus now is to ensure that our daughter, mother, and sister receive a proper and dignified burial. The municipality will support you every step of the way.”
