POLOKWANE READY TO HOST SALGA NATIONAL JOINT SITTING OF MAYORS AND SPEAKERS

Polokwane Municipality is ready to host the SALGA National Joint Sitting of Mayors and Speakers from Tuesday, 6th to Thursday, 8th August 2024. The municipal facilities are fully prepared to accommodate all the Mayors and Speakers from 257 municipalities across the country, along with SALGA delegations, participants, and other guests.

The Executive Mayor of Polokwane, Cllr. Makoro John Mpe, stated, “We are ready to welcome all delegations from across the country. We have just hosted a successful official opening of the 7th Limpopo Legislature. Our infrastructure, including roads and parks, is ready and well-maintained.

We also anticipate that the hospitality sector is prepared to accommodate the expected guests for the Sitting and we foresee a boost in local economic activities. Our officials are working closely with organisers to ensure a successful event. We are excited to continue hosting major events.”

Hosting major events in Polokwane not only highlights the municipality’s capability and infrastructure to host major events but also strengthens its position as a premier destination for national gatherings.

“Polokwane appreciates that it has been considered for this crucial opportunity for strategic reflections on advancing and protecting the interests of local government, maintaining collaborative relations with the 7th administration, and navigating the transition,” Executive Mayor concluded.
