Municipal Manager
Ms. Thuso Nemugumoni
Ms. Thuso Lavhelesani Patricia Nemugumoni has been appointed to steer the administrative arm of Polokwane Municipality. Nemugumoni is not entirely new to the role as she has, often, acted in the position during her service at Capricorn District Municipality during which period that the district achieved great success with three unqualified audit reports and two clean audit reports.
She brings , to Polokwane Municipality, avastlocal government experience having served as Executive Manager for Community Services from 2015 and Executive Manager for Strategic
Executive Management Services (SEMS) in 2018 under the employ of the district municipality.
Besides acting as a Municipal Manager, her work experience dates back over a decade in local government as follows:
- 2018 – 2022: Executive Manager for Strategic Executive Management Services (SEMS) at Capricorn District Municipality;
- 2015 – 2018: Executive Manager for Community Services at Capricorn District
Municipality; - 2010 – 2012: Deputy Director for Sustainable Livelihoods at Gauteng Department and of Social Development.
- 2012 – 2015 : Director Community Services for Fire Services, Disaster Management Services, Municipal Health Services and Sport, Arts and Culture at Mopani District Municipality; and Social Development
Ms. Nemugumoni holds a Master’s Degree in Public and Development Management (P&DM) from Wits University, Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from University of Venda and Municipal Finance Management Program (MFMP) from Wits University.
