POLOKWANE MUNICIPALITY STRENGTHENS WORKFORCE WITH PROMOTIONS AND NEW HIRES

Polokwane, 2 July 2024 | In a bid to enhance service delivery and reinforce its team, Polokwane Municipality has onboarded over 30 employees through a series of promotions and new appointments. This initiative is part of the municipality’s ongoing efforts to nurture talent and provide exceptional services to the community.

Municipal Manager Ms. Thuso Nemugumoni highlighted the significance of acknowledging and retaining diligent employees. “We have converted many hardworking temporary contract employees to permanent roles because we appreciate their outstanding contributions,” she stated.

Polokwane Executive Mayor, Cllr. Makoro John Mpe, urged the new employees to approach their roles with dedication and continue their educational pursuits. “We have eliminated the job experience requirement for entry-level positions to open doors for more graduates. Supporting young people is a priority for us,” he affirmed. He pledged full backing for the new hires, encouraging teamwork and adherence to directives from line managers.

After the welcoming event, Executive Mayor inspected key municipal facilities and infrastructure. His tour included the Civic Centre Park, the Hugh Exton Museum, and the Leeto la Polokwane bus station, which is expected to be completed this weekend and will be operational later this month.
