IMPACT OF RECENT STORM ON MUNICIPAL CEMETERIES

Polokwane Municipality wishes to inform the public that a heavy storm has caused significant damage to graves and tombstones in the municipal cemeteries.

The municipality empathizes with the families affected during this difficult time and urges those who have buried their loved ones in the municipal cemeteries to check the condition of the graves and tombstones.

While the storm has notably impacted the Church/Silicon Cemetery, the municipality encourages families to also visit the cemeteries in Seshego, Blood River, Sebayeng, and Mankweng to ensure that all is well with their loved ones’ resting places.

The municipality further appeals to families to assess any damage and report it to the companies that erected the tombstones.

Cooperation of all affected residents is invaluable as the municipality works together with all to maintain the dignity of these sacred spaces.
