PIPE LEAKS IMPACT ON OLIFANTSPOORT LINE IMPACT POLOKWANE MUNICIPALITY

Polokwane Municipality received communication from Lepelle Northern Water regarding an interruption at the Olifantspoort plant. This is due to pipe leaks detected at the Specon pipeline and Pumpstation 2 (PS2), which have necessitated the temporary suspension of operations.

This situation will impact the water supply across all areas within Polokwane Municipality that are supplied by Olifantspoort line, from Ga-Chuene to the City and Seshego.

At this time, Lepelle Northern Water is assessing the extent of the damage and Polokwane Municipality will share the anticipated timelines for repairs as soon as this information becomes available.

The municipality understands the challenges this may present and extends its sincerest apologies for any inconvenience.
