POLOKWANE ROADS IMPACTED BY FLOODING
Polokwane roads are currently experiencing floods due to the influx of rainfalls. Reports of excessive water on various roads were received from this morning from motorists.
The following roads were identified within the City as high risk due to the rain floodings:o R71: Between Paledi and Nobody Circle
o Mohlala Road: Syferkuil, between Unit D and Sebayeng
o R81: Kotishing Bridge
o D19: Vaalkop
o R521: Via Witklip from Chroom Street to the Dendron/Seshego turn-off
o Landros Mare and Veldspaat Streets, and
o Landros Mare: Between Hospital and Excelsior Street
Motorists are urged to be on the alert when on the roads by undertaking the following precautions:o Drive slowly.
o Avoid driving on shoulder of the road
o Keeping safe following distance,
o Switching on head lamps, and
o Obeying the instructions of traffic officers deployed on our roads.
The municipality urges road users to be on the watch out due to the slippery of the roads. More rainfalls are anticipated as predicated by South African Weather Services.
