TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PORTIONS OF STREETS IN THE CITY AREA FOR
REHABILITATION
Polokwane Municipality hereby notifies all residents, businesses and road users about the temporary closure of portions of several streets in the city area due to necessary rehabilitation work. The affected streets and their respective closure segments are as follows and will be closed from Tuesday, 2 – 22 July 2024:
o Boom Street from Devenish to Excelsior;
o Bodenstein Street from Paul Kruger to Schoeman;
o Rabe Street from Plein to Oost;
o Dorp Street from Hospital to Rabe;
o Jorissen Street from Plein to Dorp; and
o Hans van Rensburg Street from Devenish to Grobler.
Other portions will be reopened as the contractor completes them.
These closures are necessary to ensure the proper rehabilitation and improvement of municipal street infrastructure, which is vital for enhancing road safety, reducing congestion, and improving overall traffic flow within the city.
Polokwane Municipality asks for patience and cooperation of all affected users during this period. The municipality will provide regular updates on the progress of the rehabilitation work and notify the public as soon as the streets are reopened.
The municipality further apologizes for the inconvenience this may cause.
