TEMPORARY DISRUPTION TO POWER AND WATER SUPPLY

The Polokwane Municipality wishes to inform residents of a technical fault that has resulted in disruptions to power and water supply in certain areas.

1. Power outage in Extensions and Legae la Batho

A breaker at the Alpha Substation has malfunctioned, causing power outages in Extensions and Legae la Batho. The municipality’s technical team is on-site and conducting repairs. The estimated time for completion of repairs and full restoration of power is approximately two hours.

2. Power failure affecting SRN plant and boreholes

Simultaneously, the team is investigating a separate fault affecting electricity supply to the Sand River North plant and boreholes. This issue is impacting water supply to the following areas:
o Airport area
o Emdo
o Ladanna
o Luthuli Park
o Mahlako a Phahla
o Mahlasedi Park
o Parts of the CBD
o Rethabile Gardens

Water supply will be restored once the fault has been identified and electricity to the affected infrastructure is reinstated.

Polokwane Municipality apologizes for the inconvenience caused. Regular updates will be shared to keep all affected customers informed.
