Public Notice – WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION FROM OLIFANTS LINE – 21 April 2024

All customers are advised that there has been an interruption in water supply affecting several areas within Polokwane Municipality.

Lepelle Northern Water has informed the municipality that pumpstation 3 (Ps3) pump experienced a malfunction and tripped, necessitating the attention of an electrician. The electrician was notified to address the issue around 9:00 PM on Saturday.

Regrettably, power supply to Ps3 pump was only restored approximately 12 hours later, at 9:00 AM this morning. As a result, this incident has adversely impacted water levels in municipal reservoirs, consequently affecting water supply to various parts of Polokwane Municipality.

Polokwane Municipality is working to provide temporary relief to all affected areas during this period. The municipality anticipates that reservoir levels will gradually recover, allowing for normal restoration of water supply as swiftly as possible.

The municipality apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
