Public Notice – ELECTRICITY SUPPLY INTERRUPTION AFFECTING LARGER PART OF THE CITY – 12 May 2024
All stakeholders are hereby notified of a planned electricity supply interruption on Tuesday, 14 th May 2024, from 08:00 to 16:00. This interruption will affect a larger portion of the City Cluster as Polokwane Municipality undertakes essential maintenance work.
The interruption is necessary to facilitate the removal of broken guard wires from 66kV lines as they pose a significant risk to the reliability and safety of electricity supply infrastructure.
The following areas and their surroundings will experience the interruption:
While the planned restoration time is set for 16:00, power supply restoration may occur before the anticipated time as the municipality endeavours to restore power supply earlier if possible.
All affected users are strongly advised to treat all electrical wiring as live and to switch off all appliances to avoid injury and damage once power supply is restored.
Polokwane Municipality apologizes for any inconvenience this interruption may cause and appreciates cooperation of all affected users as the municipality works to maintain a safe and reliable electricity supply to all.
