Skip Navigation LinksPublic Notice - PLANNED ELECTRICITY SUPPLY INTERRUPTION IN POLOKWANE - 20 October 2021

All affected residents and businesses are hereby notified of a planned power supply interruption in order for Polokwane Municipality to conduct maintenance and to install new High Voltage Equipment at Gamma Substation.

The interruption, which will be implemented on Sunday, 24th October 2021 from 06h00 to 13h00, will affect the following areas:

  • Industria; 
  • Laboria; 
  • Ladanna;
  • Ladine; and 
  • Le Roux Ville

The following areas will experience a three-hour shutdown on the same day from 06h00 to 09h00:

  • Bendor;
  • Celtic Meadows; 
  • East of McDonald Street; 
  • Eduan Park; Fauna Park; 
  • Flora Park; Magna via; 
  • Mall of the North; 
  • Savannah Mall;
  • Serala View; 
  • Sterpark; 
  • Thornhill; 
  • Turfloop line; 
  • Users supplied from Baobab substation; 
  • Waterberry; and 
  • Welgelegen

All affected areas are advised to treat all electrical wiring as live and to switch off all appliances to avoid injury and damage once supplied is restored. Polokwane Municipality apologises for the inconvenience.

Electricity challenges can be reported to municipal Electrical Call Centre at 015 023 5490 / 015 023 5707 or WhatsApp at 083 824 9886 or to Eskom at 015 299 0700.

Incidents of tampering with electricity infrastructure such as cable theft and bypassing of meter boxes can be reported to municipal By-Law Enforcement Services at 015 023 5484 or to police at 08600 10111 or Eskom Crime Line number at 0800 11 27 22.
