A communication coming from Lepelle Northern Water notifies Polokwane Municipality of a planned shutdown of water supply at both Ebenezer and Olifantspoort Schemes.


Olifantspoort Scheme will experience 24-hour stoppage in two phases “to replace critical valves on the Specon pipeline”:

  • Dates: Tuesday, 17th May and Tuesday, 12th July 2022
  • Time: 06h00

Supply from Ebenezer will be stopped for 6 hours “to repair the leaking main pipeline”:

  • Date: Tuesday, 7th June 2022
  • Time: 06h00 – 12h00

Water supply to all areas within Polokwane Municipality will be affected on the days of stoppages by Lepelle Northern Water. The municipality will provide temporary relief through water tankers on those days until Lepelle Northern Water completes its work and restores water supply to Polokwane Municipality.

All customers are urged to use water sparingly and report promptly water related challenges to Water and Sanitation helpline so that the municipality can come to the aid of those affected.

Polokwane Municipality apologises for the inconvenience that this may cause.
