POLOKWANE TO LAUNCH SERVICE DELIVERY APP

Polokwane | Friday, 13 September 2024 – Executive Mayor, Cllr Makoro John Mpe announced the impending launch of a service delivery app that promises to transform how residents engage with their municipality.

Speaking to an audience gathered for the Lepelle Northern Water Golf Dinner, Executive Mayor Mpe outlined a future where citizens could directly report pressing service delivery issues such as potholes, pipe leaks, and electricity faults, right at their fingertips.

The announcement, made with a sense of urgency and foresight, signals a bold step towards bridging the gap between the municipality and its people. However, Cllr Mpe’s message was not one of self-congratulation. “We acknowledge that much more remains to be done,” he said, his tone a delicate balance between determination and humility. “Our work is far from over, but we are committed to ensure Polokwane’s key landmarks and destinations are marketed effectively, bringing our city closer to its potential as a destination of choice.”

Suspense filled the room as he shifted focus to a topic of even greater magnitude, water, the most essential and yet most fragile resource for the people of Polokwane. With a steady voice, he reminded the audience that Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) holds a vital mandate — the bulk delivery of water to the municipality. The collaboration between Polokwane Municipality and LNW, he emphasized, is not merely a strategic partnership but a lifeline for the entire municipality. “There is an undeniable need for Polokwane and LNW to continue to work hand in hand to ensuring that our people receive this precious resource,” he stated, his words carrying the weight of the hopes of the city’s residents.

The evening’s announcements, delivered with gravitas, left a palpable sense of anticipation in the air. As the municipality readies itself to roll out this app, expectations are high. Will this be the solution that not only enhances service delivery but also solidifies Polokwane’s standing as a responsive, forward-thinking city?

End!
