POWER DOWN FOR PROGRESS – BLOODRIVER BOREHOLE SWITCH-ON TO
BOOST WATER SUPPLY

As part of the municipality’s ongoing efforts to augment the current water supply, the
municipality is in the process of switching on additional boreholes within the municipal
jurisdiction. On Wednesday, 09 October 2024, the municipality will proceed with switching
on the Bloodriver Borehole Project.

For the switch-on process to be successful, the contractor will need to temporarily
switch off electricity supply as follows:

o Date: Wednesday, 09 October 2024
o Time: 09h00 – 15h00
o Duration: 6 hours
o Affected Area: The whole of Luthuli Park

The introduction of additional boreholes is a critical step in addressing the growing water
demand and ensuring that the community has access to a reliable and consistent water source.
Boreholes supplement the existing water supply, particularly during periods of high demand.

All users in Luthuli Park are advised to treat all electrical wiring as live during the
scheduled power outage. It is also recommended to switch off all appliances during this
period to prevent any potential injury or damage when the power supply is restored.

Polokwane Municipality appreciates understanding and cooperation of all.
